My Little Man Turns ONE!!

Barrett at 4 days old

Barrett turned one on the 25th! I can’t believe it has already been a year. Barrett is such a sweet boy and keeps me chuckling at him constantly. He is now walking and is getting very good at it. At first I thought (maybe a little hopeful) that he would have brown hair (look at picture above), but each time I would cut his hair it just seemed to get lighter and lighter. Here are a few pictures of his little birthday party. Zane made the cakes into ones and I helped decorate them, Barrett was not into the cake at first. It took a little bit of showing him what to do & convincing that it was ok before he was alright with digging into the cake! I did take pictures in the studio, which I only have one of them to post right now!

Barrett’s favorite part was the balloons

My mom and I will be in Utah for the next week, so I will be switching the blog over to private after that. So leave a comment if you want an invite or you can also email me @ teagar@comcast.net

Is it really January?

The past few days were so gorgeous and then of course today it snowed. To take advantage of the beautiful weather we met Grandma at the park. Barrett enjoyed walking around and trying to climb up the ladder. When I put him in the swing he seemed really unsure and was groaning the whole time. I don’t know why, he has been in them before. Kyla met a boy her same age, they kept going down the slide together.

Favorite Visitor’s

Some of our favorite visitor’s were here a few weeks ago. David and Vanessa happened to find some great flights from DC to Colorado, so they booked them and headed to the airport the same day! What a great way to start the year! Kyla was definitely sad to see them go.
One of the days they were here we went down to Colorado Springs and enjoyed the beautiful weather at a park. Kyla enjoyed the purple slides and making music!

And of course Vanessa and Zane had to play Bocce ball! I took this picture from the Upstairs of my parents house where it was warm.

We were able to find a Wii and played some games with them before they left. Vanessa had to show Zane what an awesome bowler she is! And of course Zane had to show her how tough he is!

A NEW YEAR!

So one of my goals this year is to be better organized! So, we decided to add some shelves above our stairs, since we do not have a linen closet. Before adding the shelves we thought the wall needed some color, so we painted the hallway New Years Day! Kyla joined in on some of the fun! It was a little darker than expected, but we really like the color.

Now I think we are going to repaint the bathroom downstairs.

Christmas Morning!

We had a great Christmas! It didn’t snow, so Zane was able to hangout with us all day. Here are a few pictures from Christmas morning! Zane gave Barrettt a cookie, so not only does he have eczema on his face but there is also cookie all over it as well! If you click on the last picture you can see a slide show of more pictures.

The Garage was a big with Barrett and Kyla!

Kyla fell asleep playing her new game Madagascar!

Christmas Eve!

Kyla and Barrett opened their jammies on Christmas Eve! I tried to get a picture of both of them by the tree. It usually never seems to work like you want it to, so this is what I got! I took puppy from Kyla and that is why she has a sour face.

Kyla put out a plate of cookies and milk for Santa. She also wrote Santa a note and drew a picture for him. She was so excited that he ate them all!
Our tree, there aren’t ornaments on the bottom two feet, because Barrett likes them so much!

Here is our tree with presents from Santa!!

A visit to Santa’s Wonderland!

I have not taken the kids to see Santa at the mall. Last week after a friend told us about Santa’s Wonderland at Bass Pro Shops, we thought we would go check it out! Of course being at Bass Pro Shops helped the decision.

I scanned the picture they gave us, so you could see how excited the kids were!

Here is a picture that I took of Santa’s Wonderland from the second story. The following pictures are of some of the animals that they have throughout the store.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

We wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas!
While I am waiting for Kyla to get up I thought I would make a post! Kyla has been wanting to decorate her gingerbread man house, as she calls it. So on Monday night that is what she did!

A Broken Arm

It looks like Kyla is following in my footsteps. However, I think I was 5 or 6 before I broke my arm (the first time). She was jumping from the couch to the lovesac. Zane had asked her to settle down. A few moments later she was crying on the couch holding her right arm, Zane checked on her and she proceeded to use her arm and carry on as if she was ok. This happened Thursday night (the 11th). On friday, I was giving her a bath and when I took her shirt off she complained about her arm. So on Saturday, yup Saturday, we took her into the Children’s After Hours at Littleton Hospital. The Doctor thought that she probably just dislocated her elbow, but Kyla would still not move her arm, so they took an xray and sure enough she had a small buckle. Boy did I feel bad, she must be tougher than I am. We left the Hospital with a splint and on Wednesday (the 17th) we went in to get a cast!
