Play Date at Flatirons!

Through facebook I have been able to reconnect with several friends from High School. Several of us live not too far, so we decided to get our kids together and meet up at Flatirons Mall back in February. They have a great little play area for the kids. However, Barrett was more interested in the exit and eating the crayons at the kid tables.

More Pictures of Utah!

I have some catching up to do with our Blog.
Here are more pictures from our trip out to Utah! I went to the Mt. Timpanogos temple one evening, it was windy so I wasn’t able to get the best focus.

Deana & Dianna!

Morgan & Kyla!

Dania & Barrett (the redness on Barrett’s face is eczema and he also has food on his face.)

Daniel’s shiner from wrestling! He made it to State, so I am sure it was worth it!

Bathroom Adventures!

Well, it took some time but Kyla is FINALLY potty trained. Many people, including our pediatrician, told me not to push it and that it will click one day and happen. I was really wondering if this was going to “happen” for us. And that is exactly how it went. We tried and bribed Kyla and nothing seemed to work. Zane came home one evening with Mentos, and it must have inspired Kyla because she was excited to get one every time she used her potty chair.

So, later that week Zane and I had gone to bed one evening and I heard our door open (it must have around 1am). I was pretending to still be asleep, but waiting for a tap on the shoulder and instead the light to our bathroom went on and I realized it was Kyla going potty. At this point Zane and I looked at each other and waited for her to come to one of our sides, but she ran out of our room, making sure to close our bedroom door and continued into her room, (slamming her door) which woke up Barrett. I got up to tend to Barrett and expected Kyla to be awake as well, but she was sound asleep.
The next morning I told her she could have a mentos because she used the bathroom at night. She looked at me like I was crazy and said, “No I didn’t”. Uhm, well ok!

Barrett has shown interest in the potty chair. He likes to take the cushion off it and dump it in the toilet, he loves unrolling the toilet paper, and he likes to try to flush the toilet. So, we have to remind anyone that comes to our house to make sure and keep the lid on the toilet down and close the door to the bathroom.

Feliz Cumpleanos Abuela!!

Abuela celebrated a birthday while we were in Utah! We got together at Dan and Dianna’s house on Sunday evening to celebrate. Cristina made a wonderful chicken and salmon, and Deana made a very yummy cake! Thank You!
Here are some pictures of Abuela and her cake. And yes that’s a birthday candle (Uruguayan Style)! Thank you Cristina for sending the pictures, they were taken at a better angle than what I was able to capture.

Before lighting the candle!

Uhm, I think she was a little caught off guard!

Wondering, what the heck should she do now.

“Blow them out, Quick!”

And here is a picture of Abuela on her birthday, Feb 6th, with some of her great granddaughters.

From left to right: Mickayla, Breann, Morgan, Abuela, Kyla, and Ashley.

Cousins!

While out in Utah Kyla was able to meet and play with her cousins. One night she went over to my Aunt Cristina’s (who was having a slumber party for her granddaughters) and played! Here are a few pictures of Kyla playing with Breann while at Cristina’s home, Thank you for sharing these pictures with me Cristina. The following day we went to Ikea and the younger girls enjoyed playing at the kid’s place. While we were at Ikea Disney Radio was there promoting the Jonas Brothers, so the girls enjoyed singing and dancing.

While we were out in Utah we were able to go to the Draper Temple Open House! This was the first time I had been to a Temple Open House and it was awesome. Since I can’t take pictures inside, here is a picture of the outside.

My Little Man Turns ONE!!

Barrett at 4 days old

Barrett turned one on the 25th! I can’t believe it has already been a year. Barrett is such a sweet boy and keeps me chuckling at him constantly. He is now walking and is getting very good at it. At first I thought (maybe a little hopeful) that he would have brown hair (look at picture above), but each time I would cut his hair it just seemed to get lighter and lighter. Here are a few pictures of his little birthday party. Zane made the cakes into ones and I helped decorate them, Barrett was not into the cake at first. It took a little bit of showing him what to do & convincing that it was ok before he was alright with digging into the cake! I did take pictures in the studio, which I only have one of them to post right now!

Barrett’s favorite part was the balloons

My mom and I will be in Utah for the next week, so I will be switching the blog over to private after that. So leave a comment if you want an invite or you can also email me @ teagar@comcast.net

Is it really January?

The past few days were so gorgeous and then of course today it snowed. To take advantage of the beautiful weather we met Grandma at the park. Barrett enjoyed walking around and trying to climb up the ladder. When I put him in the swing he seemed really unsure and was groaning the whole time. I don’t know why, he has been in them before. Kyla met a boy her same age, they kept going down the slide together.

Favorite Visitor’s

Some of our favorite visitor’s were here a few weeks ago. David and Vanessa happened to find some great flights from DC to Colorado, so they booked them and headed to the airport the same day! What a great way to start the year! Kyla was definitely sad to see them go.
One of the days they were here we went down to Colorado Springs and enjoyed the beautiful weather at a park. Kyla enjoyed the purple slides and making music!

And of course Vanessa and Zane had to play Bocce ball! I took this picture from the Upstairs of my parents house where it was warm.

We were able to find a Wii and played some games with them before they left. Vanessa had to show Zane what an awesome bowler she is! And of course Zane had to show her how tough he is!
