Throwing Rocks

We went to visit Grandma the other day. It was such a nice day out, not too hot! We went to Fox Run Park to walk around the ponds and let Kyla throw rocks, well mostly let Kyla throw rocks. Kyla loves throwing rocks in the water! Mommy forgot to put sunscreen on Kyla, but luckily her little sunburn went away the next day! Whew, thought we were going to be miserable for several days.

Torta Fritas with Abuelita!!

I just downloaded pictures from my camera and forgot about these. These were taken almost a month ago. What a treat to spend time with the Abuelos!

Kyla enjoyed having the Abuelos over. She had a lot of fun helping Abuelita make Torta Fritas. She was so cute trying to roll out the dough!

Well, it’s been awhile since I have posted. I haven’t been feeling the best lately (which is not a bad thing), so I haven’t been breaking out the camera as often.

Here is the reason I have not felt my best!!

We are expecting another Baby Eagar! I am due at the end of January. The ultrasound below was taken at my first Doctor’s visit in June. It is always so reassuring to see the little bean. You can barely see it, but the little white line on the bean is the heartbeat! I had another appointment today, and the heartrate was 160 bpm! Kyla thought it was fun to listen to the heartbeat, however, she was a bit nervous when we were walking back to the exam room. I had to reassure her that we were there for me and not for her!

Now to wait and see what the sex is!! Somedays Kyla says its a “baby sister” and other days she says its a “baby broder”.

Wash My Hands, MOMMY!!!

Earlier today I was in the kitchen washing dishes. I hear Kyla come in and say, “Wash Hands, Mommy”. I look down at her and she is standing there with yogurt all over her hands, arms, face, hair, and clothes. I told her to stand still and I went to look at what her little hands had created. She was eating, (more playing then eating), yogurt on her table. I hurried and grabbed the camera and took some pictures.

You have to love Children’s creativity!

Home from the Hospital

Well Kyla spent the past weekend in the Hospital with pneumonia. She had her 2 year check up on Thursday the 7th and she was coughing and wheezing a bit. We went home and gave her nebulizer treatments and she seemed to do better. However, through the night she got worse. By Friday morning we took her to the ER and they hooked her up to Oxygen and gave her more nebulizer treatments. They did a chest x-ray and some blood tests. The ER Dr. told us she had pneumonia (bacterial).

We then waited for a room and Kyla was admitted to the Hospital. They tried to give her IV’s for the antibiotics, but they kept blowing out. She ended up having to have shots. Made me feel terrible.
We went home on Sunday with Oxygen. Since we had to cancel her birthday party we had a small get together on Sunday evening for cake and ice cream.

Thank You for all the visits in the Hospital. Kyla definitely enjoyed them.

Shower Time

Kyla loves to take a shower. We just put the shower head at her level and let her enjoy it! She was giving us a good laugh on Sunday though. She kept opening her mouth in the water and then licking the shower door!

Telluride, Colorado

We went to Montrose for Memorial Day Weekend with our good friends Brian and Amber. We spent a day in Ouray, another day in Telluride, and on the way home we stopped at the Black Canyon!! We had a lot of fun and Kyla got her first sunburn. Oops. She didn’t seem to notice.
While in Telluride we rode the Gondola, walked through town and enjoyed ice cream! I will try to upload more pics to a photo album. These pictures are of Bridal Veil Falls in Telluride. We would like to go back in the summer and do more exploring.

Bridal Veil Falls is Colorado’s highest cascade, with a 365 foot drop.
The structure at the top of the falls was built in the late 1800’s. It was a hydroelectric power plant that provided electricity for the Smuggler-Union Mine. It is now registered as a national hystorical lanmark, but is on private property. The owner renovated the plant and lives there with his family.

Montgomery Reservoir

We went for a drive on Saturday. We were hoping to go on Boreas Pass, but it was still closed. We decided to visit Montgomery Reservoir, which is on Hoosier Pass. We drove up to this old mine and hiked around a little. This is why we love Colorado so much!!

Kyla enjoyed throwing rocks with Daddy in the water.
