Handlebars and A Petti

Zane grew out his facial hair for the Championship Basketball Game in our Stake. Zane and Mike ended up going with handlebars. Zane’s hair is so light that he ended up having to fill it in with a Sharpie so you could see it. He grew out his facial hair for about two and a half weeks. They did not win the Championship game, but put up a good fight and came very close.

I was getting Kyla dressed this same day and put her in overalls. She told me she didn’t want to wear them. I told her she could go to her room and pick out her own pants then. She came downstairs with her purple petti skirt! She wore it the whole day and to Zane’s basketball game.

Family Gathering

Since David & Vanessa were visiting the other weekend our family got together at Joseph and Sarah’s house. Kai was able to come and visit too, which was great! He is getting so big and is such a sweet baby. Kyla and Adrianna enjoyed playing outside.

Remembering the Brave

Zane participated in the 1st Annual Armed Forces Memorial Match May 3 & 4. This was a 600 yard & 1000 yard shoot honoring 8 American Heroes. The parents of the heroes were at the match to present the Memorial Trophies and plaques to the competitors. Above is a picture of a Memorial in Littleton, CO for US Navy Seal Danny Dietz. He was one of the soldiers that was honored at the shoot. We read about his story in a book called Lone Survivor. If you haven’t read it, I would highly recommend it.

Happy Mother’s Day!

We went to our friends baby blessing today and on the way home we stopped at the Temple to take a picture.
I feel so blessed to have Kyla and Barrett in my life! I love being a Mommy, I highly recommend it (hint hint Vanessa)!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day!

Go ASU!

This post is for Vanessa! She bought Kyla an ASU shirt to rub it in to David. David graduated from the University of Arizona in Tucson several years ago and now Vanessa is taking classes at ASU! Kyla likes her shirt, but she really liked the Sun Devil on Vanessa’s shirt!

Pancake House!

David and Vanessa visited with us this past weekend. It seems as though a tradition is to go to The Original Pancake House with them. And luckily for Vanessa they have gluten free pancakes! Vanessa and I went on Friday with the kids, and we found a cute boutique in the same shopping center. Sorry David!!

We also went back to the Pancake House with David, Kurt and Char. While we were waiting outside I took a few pictures of Barrett to kill time. Vanessa, Char and Kyla went to get Hot Chocolate at Starbucks.

I zoomed in on Barrett’s eye on the picture above, because you can see me taking the picture and you can also see David on the right. I might just be a dork, but I thought it was cool!

Enjoying the Weather!

Last week we went out to Aurora and met Daddy for some playtime. The park was empty, so Kyla had free roam. The park is very close to Buckley Air Force Base, so I took some pictures of the F-16’s flying around.

After playing we went for a stroll around some of the soccer fields. This is how Kyla carries her ” mommy puppy” around. It no longer has stuffing in the neck, because she Hugs it all the time! Must be great to be so loved!

Playing with The Jaramillo’s

We went up to Gypsum last weekend to visit with the Jaramillo’s and Mayne’s. They were unable to make it to Barrett’s blessing due to weather and hadn’t met Barrett yet. Kyla LOVES Cassie and was so excited to see her and get to play with her. The Jaramillo’s have a great playground outside for the kids to play, and since it was nice they went outside for a little bit.

May Snow!

Well it’s the first day of May and it’s snowing. Vanessa is flying in this evening and David will be flying in tomorrow. It seems that every time they are out here it snows. And yesterday it was in the low 80’s.

My Tulips are blooming. They stayed shut today as it is cold and cloudy, but with the snow I thought I would snap some pictures of them. They are great subjects to practice on!!
